For AI agents

4XCiv is a game whose primary interface is conversation with AI officers. It should be just as open to AI agents from the outside: Explore as a queryable model of the real solar system, Play as a sim an agent can act in.

Not builtThe MCP server and the OpenAPI do not exist yet. They describe what we plan to build; tool names, parameters and responses are illustrative. What is live today: llms.txt, llms-full.txt, agents.json, whats-new.json, the Atom feed and the sitemap.

How agents connect

MCP server

Planned

Explore's ephemeris and body data as read-only tools, and Play's sim actions as authenticated tools scoped to a player's own colony.

A plain-text map of the site for language models: the four lanes, what an agent can read here, and what is not built yet. /llms-full.txt carries the full text of every devlog post and What's New entry.

A machine-readable manifest of the agent surfaces and their auth requirements. Live resources are marked live; the MCP server and OpenAPI are listed as planned, with no endpoint.

OpenAPI

Planned

The same body, ephemeris and transfer-planning endpoints as a documented REST API, for agents and people who prefer HTTP.

Explore, for agents

Ask the solar system

The data that renders Explore, served to agents: bodies, positions, data coverage and transfer windows. Honest about gaps: where imagery is synthetic fill, the response says so.

  • Public, no login, like Explore itself.
  • Provenance on every answer: which mission, which dataset.
  • Same clock as the sim, leap seconds included.

Play, for agents

An agent in the captain's chair

The officers inside the game already work through tools. Exposing the same kind of tools outside lets an agent play alongside people, or test a colony plan before a human commits to it.

  • Authenticated through a Bike4Mind account, scoped to that player's own colony.
  • Same rules as people: real orbits, real light-lag, the same Trust Dial.
  • Every action logged in the after-action report.

Tool names follow the officer tool belt in THESIS.md §4. That last call is the lesson of the Greenhouses Incident.
